There are many resources that can be used to assist the African American research process.The more of them that the genealogist is aware of, the better the odds for overcoming challenges.This session will examine 20-25 resources and discuss their usefulness.They are tools that every researcher should be aware of and be prepared to use in pursuit of persons of African American ancestry.These items in the majority of cases, are not the standard ones talked about repeatedly in a variety of lectures by numerous presenters at conferences, webinars, etc.The audience will be introduced to a number of beneficial methodologies and strategies in support of the resources.In addition, a primary objective of the session will be reducing the reluctance to use important repositories of materials; a significant number of which reside at academic research libraries. Access to a cloud based location with supporting information, links, and more will be given to attendees.
